Dr. Safa Rubaye is self-taught artist. He has a passion in art while very young. He has always been keen on polishing his style and philosophy in this arena. An avid proponent of classicism and postmodernism in art. He studied medicine at the University of Baghdad, which provided him with extensive knowledge in human anatomy, a theme reflected in his pieces of art. His major themes revolve around the human experience and the exploration of human psyche which enriched by his training in psychiatry. He has finished tens of pieces that can be categorized under the category of various disciplines such as surrealism, abstract and impressionism. As pertaining to the usage of media, he masters painting with oil on canvas, acrylic, pastel, graphite, and color pencils.
